The new year is off to a great start. As part of my job at Heights Arts, I am working on a public art project at Heights Youth Club (affiliate of Cleveland Boys and Girls Club). I wrote a grant to the Ohio Arts Council last year (scored second highest in the state!) to help fund an artist residency at the club. Artist in resident Augusto Bordelois is working with club members to design and fabricate a 90 sq. ft. mosaic mural that will be installed on the exterior of the club's building. We are working hard and having a lot of fun.Laying down glass for rays of the sun.Augusto Bordelois (wearing a mask because of a cold) working with the students. The mosaic's designated site (triangle).
I have a show opening on Friday, February 15th at Cleveland's William Busta Gallery. On view will be several new paintings and field work from a recent solo cross country road trip (photographs, drawings and video). I'm in high gear and not sure if I remember or want to remember how to shift.
Show runs February 15 - March 16, 2013.
